"Not good enough," and he knew he was being unrealistic. He knew he was being ridiculous. If anyone else had gone through what he'd gone through, if anyone else were having these PTSD reactions, then he'd understand in a heartbeat. But he didn't have that luxury. The world didn't have that luxury.

There was a complex system of thoughts and filters and mechanisms that were important for being Superman and they had to go back into working order as soon as possible. And none of them allowed for a Superman who didn't know how to hold back properly.
