Clark walked in, his movements entirely silent (another change, usually Clark made a point of being obvious in his movements) as he sat beside Bruce on the bed.

"Sorry," Clark said, starting to sound like his old self, "I'm always grateful."

He left off there, but his arm against Bruce's side said that Bruce was one of those things he was grateful for.
