Clark smiled and shook his head.
"Not really." And he couldn't help but kiss her cheek, happy and comfortable and content even with all of this happening. Because ultimately, this was good. What they were doing was good. And he was doing it not alone, but with people he loved and trusted and being a part of something instead of standing alone, aside, that was good too.
"Clark's exaggerating my assistance."
"No, I'm really not."
"Well, no, you're not, but I have to be modest sometimes."
