Clark smiled at the first part and then frowned a little, considering the second.

"Is this more comfortable for you?" he asked, switching to the language in question. He started going over what Japanese recipes he knew; he hadn't been in the country long, but he'd spent a decent amount of time in some of the Japanese immigrant communities in Brazil during his trip around the globe.

Then he nearly kicked himself.
