It settled a different something inside him to see Clark eat. Though he didn't doubt Clark's health, it spoke to that part of him that had apparently taken care of Steve so long ago. That distant past was becoming clearer, and that was fine. The distant past was less worrisome than the part in the middle. He tended to avoid it, reject it outright.
