Clint had chosen his location for pure line of sight. He wasn't a half-mile away. He was much, much closer than that, for the sake of his weaponry. But apparently he was friendly - as was evidenced by how, unashamedly, he gave Superman a wave. Was he not supposed to notice? Unfortunately, that wasn't quite how Hawkeye rolled.
